Spellforce 3 is a great game and no one is talking about it . Assassin's Creed IV requires you to harpoon 2 full humpback whales worth of material to craft 1 holster.
In terms of story, starting with SF3 makes sense since it is a prequel. The gameplay is a bit different than the other titles, but I'd say that now, after all the problems have been mostly fixed, it's a good game to play. SF1 if you want to start in the order they've been released. No matter the choice, should be a fun journey for you.
