2 Answers. Problems with a KIA engine at seven years old. That sounds about right. If you're working on the engine, get a good shop manual. Even this didn't affect the performance. The 91 octane may increase performance but the 3.3l did everything we needed it to do on 87 octane cut with 10% ethanol. We averaged 26 mpg on this trip of over 3000 miles. I bet the 3.5l is a great engine for you but the 3.3l can hold its own as a power plant for the Sienna.
The 3MZ FE is a DOHC 3.3L V6 engine featuring VVT-i. It shares the same base design as the 1MZ engine, however the 3MZ is slightly larger with a higher compression ratio.
